Court, police station and other commitments mean that from time to time we work remotely and your call may be diverted. If you are not put through immediately, leave a message or click the ‘contact’ section below and we will get back to you. We aim to respond within an hour. Meetings in person are at our office by prior arrangement. Gallagher Law provides representation at police stations and courts 24/7. The above number can be used outside office hours but for police station or other urgent matters only.
About Gallagher Law
Gallagher Law as a firm began in 2019, but the core Gallagher team has provided crime and motoring representation in Suffolk for approaching 30 years, beginning with Declan’s time as head of the criminal department at Burnett Barker solicitors, where he was soon joined by Caroline. Caroline and Declan have worked together for twenty-eight years [and counting].
Graham Boutel worked directly with Declan and Caroline for some thirteen years after decades in law enforcement. He currently works as a freelance police station representative under Declan’s supervision
Graham continues to assist GL as well as other firms in this freelance role; and we are very glad that he does.
Meanwhile Graham’s direct replacement as litigator and police station representative has been Julia Gooch, a legal executive of enormous experience and considerable reputation, whose services we were delighted to retain when she joined GL in 2022.
Julia is a passionate and committed police station representative as well as a meticulous crown court litigator.
Availability
We are available for police station and other emergencies at any time, day or night. For other urgent situations, we can usually provide an initial consultation within twenty-four hours. We deal with the full range of criminal offences, either in person or with the help of our carefully selected approved counsel.

Police Station
If you find yourself in a police station say you wish to be represented by Gallagher Law and the police will contact us through the duty solicitor call centre.
If the police tell you they want to speak to you or invite you to the Police Station – say nothing until you have spoken to us Ring us and we will take you from there.
If you have a friend or relative in the police station, call us. We will contact the police and see what we can do. If they are not already represented, we can represent them.
If someone has already had representation, it may be necessary to pay privately if we are to assume conduct.
